Next - Moving forward over 200 years, for the next history marker, we will stay in the US, considering the hotshot it swiftly became, but this time we will venture southwest, to Chicago, Illinois. Now, although Chicago does not border the sea, which benefitted Boston's old-fashioned economy, as discussed before, in the Boston Foundation: Global Economic Boat article, this would not stop Chicago taking centre stage in other ways, in this case, the way being up. In the late 1800s, an urban business revolution was underway, with bosses building their companies up - literally. This would change the way business would be conducted forever...
